Abstract

To understand this book, which is interesting in its presentation and subject matter, the reader must carefully read its introduction to understand its purposes. The author is concerned with presenting and analyzing Western visions, especially Italian ones, of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and even refuting them and pointing out their historical mistakes based on absolute Western ignorance about Islam since its rise.
Understanding the Western visions of Islam in the Middle Ages, which also passed to the first centuries of the modern era, was essentially built on three bases, to which a fourth one can be added. The first is the Eastern-Christian writings about Islam, Muslims, and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which backed to the eighth century AD when John of Damascus presented the early Christian conception of Islam that he regarded as heresy.
